- Nigel's practice is predominantly property based. He has more than 15 years experience in property transactions and commercial law including:
- Commercial and residential conveyancing;
- Retail, commercial and State land leases;
- business acquisitions and sales
- property development, including community title schemes and structuring mixed use projects
- corporate restructures;
- major project due diligence.
Clients are well served by his attention to detail and considerate manner.
He also has several years experience in local government and planning and environment law, including the conduct of appeals in the Planning and Environment Court relating to development approvals and acting in proceedings for declarations and injunctions relating to breaches of town planning schemes.
Nigel also has a wealth of experience in Native Title, having been involved in several successful native title claims on behalf of claimants. He has also negotiated and drafted indigenous land use agreements. He has represented the Cape York Land Council in successful judicial review actions and acted for most land councils throughout Queensland.
In addition to property matters, Nigel has considerable experience in fishing matters involving fishing licences and quota units, vessel purchases and constructions, as well as sharefishing agreements , joint ventures and charters. He also acts in defending fisheries and marine park prosecutions.
