- The Hon. Travis E. Lindenmayer was admitted to the Queensland Bar in 1963. Judge Lindenmayer developed a wide general practice including significant componants of Family Law, Common Law (torts, contract etc), Industrial Law and some Criminal Law.
He was then appointed Judge of the Family Court of Australia in 1976 and was assigned to the Appeal Division of the Court for two years in 1983 and again in 1988. Judge Lindenmayer was then assigned permanently to the Appeal Division in 1991 a position he held until retirement in 2002.
In 2002 the Family Law Practioners Association of Queensland inaugurated an annual award in honour of Judge Lindenmayer, to be called “The Trav Lindenmayer Memorial Award”, the criteria for selection being “integrity, intellect and industry”. There have been innumerable judgements (both Nisi Prius and Appellate), plus many papers and articles produced by Judge Lindenmayer during his long and distinguished career. - Affiliations / Memberships
